On Saturday and Sunday afternoon’s Rowland can be found parked in front of the television set. He’s not watching Alabama or Colorado or Texas Tech, he’s watching receivers. He’s watching them come in and out of breaks, he’s watching them tip-top the sideline and he’s watching those wide receivers block down field.

This man takes his craft seriously!

“He watches a lot of other wide receivers, pro and college,” Bob Kornely, Falcon football coach said. “Not to many kids watch football anymore and if they do they watch it on you-tube.”

He soaks up the game film and then goes out and shreds it on the football field.

In 2017, Josh Rowland accounted for 17 TD’s, 7 rushing, 8 receiving and 2 with special teams returns.

In 2018, Rowland has been a TD machine: Through 6 games Rowland already has 19 TD’s…

Season stats:

Rushing - 9-130, 3 TD’s

Receiving - 25-576, 13 TD’s

All of the 2018 success didn’t come easily. A a freshman and sophomore Rowland struggled keeping his emotions in check. He missed a few games, sat on the bench for a minute and as Coach Kornely said he’s now turned into a positive influence and a big-time team leader.

“He’s really improved controlling his emotions, he let them get the best of him his freshman and sophomore years,” Kornely said. “These last few years he’s done a good job with his his teammates and become a great leader.”

And a terrific down-field blocker.

“He’s a really good blocker and takes that part of the game seriously,” Kornely said. “On defense he draws the toughest coverage

Falcon senior Bryant Burnette leads the team with 686 rushing yards (8 TD’s)

“Josh is a student of being a good blocker,” Kornely said. “He does a good job on the line of scrimmage and he does an equally good job blocking downfield.

And he is a bad man on the football field. Here is the Josh Rowland highlight reel from McLaughlin.
