Very early in the season but after Tuesday's performance in Kadoka,

A lot of folks didn't venture over to the field events Tuesday. If they had, they would have seen a couple of monstrous performances from Bison junior, Shane Collins.

Collins won the shot-put 49'1 and the discus 156-feet. Both of those performances are tops in the Class B ranks this season.

Class B shot put:

1.Collins, Shane49'01.00"Bison

2.Howard, Jacob48'02.00"Sully Buttes

3.Johnson, Cliffey45'11.50"Andes Central/Dakota Christian

Discus Throw - 136'04.00"

1.Collins, Shane156'00.00"Bison

2.Joachim, Jacob150'04.00"Corsica-Stickney

3.Howard, Jacob140'06.00"Sully Buttes

It was sort of a light day for SDSU bound, Daniel Burkhalter. The senior ran a 10:11 3200 meters to automatically punch his ticket to the state track meet. In addition, he inched the medley team to victory with a 3:51, good enough for an automatic qualifier to the state meet.

Alright, so Collins is ranked No. 1 in the shot put and discus.

Burkhalter ranked No. 1 in the 800/1600 and 3200 and now the medley team has the top time in the state.

800m 1.Burkhalter, Daniel 2:01.76Bison

1600m -  1.Burkhalter, Daniel 4:32.13Bison

3200m -  1.Burkhalter, Daniel 10:13.71Bison

Medley Relay - 1.Bison3:51.01

Chester Area looks to be the favorite in Class B but Bison has some options, some talent and should be there at the end of the year.
