Shout out to the Crazy Horse track team - Chief Athletics on the rise

Short in number, a couple of Lady Chief tracksters having some fun during Thursday's track meet in Pine Ridge (Track photos by Kernit Grimshaw)

Delighted to go through Kernit Grimshaw's track photos from Thursday's meet in Pine Ridge and find a few Lady Chiefs runners in competition. I don't have the results yet, but for me, to have the guts to go out for track at a school where track isn't a big deal, that takes some guts.

Crazy Horse had some serious track and cross country athletes...STUDS that took home titles.

Remember some of those names from the early 80's where Native teams were dominating the state of South Dakota.

1984 - Todd County Class A champs, Gerald Cournoyer - Champ

1984 - Crazy Horse Class B champs, Narcisse Red Kettle - Champ

1983 - Red Cloud's - Cleveland Weasel Bear - CHAMP

1983 - Crazy Horse Class B champ, Gerald Cournoyer, Marty Indian - CHAMP

At any rate good job young ladies....

Saw a great post on Facebook last night from girls basketball coach and Crazy Horse AD. James Bagwell who attended the first ever Southwestern SD High School Volleyball, all star game hosted at Oelrich's high school, and organized by Dale Pine Jr. Can't recall the exact quote but seems like it was thanking Pine for letting Crazy Horse attend and allowing one of their players to showcase her talents.

Southwestern SD High School Volleyball All-Star Game

Bagel - Great job Amya representing Crazy Horse School and performing very well at the 1st Annual All-Star Volleyball Tournament. It was an all star game but you could tell it some of the best talent in the state the way the game was played. #Chiefs

From Dale Pine on the volleyball all-star match - Thanks to all the athletes who participated in the first ever Southwestern SD High School Volleyball All-Star Game tonight! Also our coaches Caine and Katie. All of the fans who came out to watch, all of our student workers, you are all awesome! Hopefully the upcoming seniors for next year are looking forward to this! Myah Dullknife Shay Bordeauxx Shylee Brave Dorothy HorseLooking Jazmine Thompson Amadea Pourier Kelsey Brave Eagle Sierra O'Brien Tycara CrazyThunder Caine L.
