In between track practice and revving up for the summer baseball season, Burke/South-Central sophomore Jaden Frank traveled to Minnesota last weekend to participate on coach Sittig’s Sacred Hoops basketball team. Playing in one of the toughest early-season tournaments, the Battle of the Lakes tourney, Frank came away with an entirely new perspective on the level of talent.
“It was a blast with lots of great talent and I just saw a whole new level of basketball,” Frank said.
Playing in four games the competitor in Frank came out and he battled.
“I definitely got better this weekend just from the level of play that was there,” he said.
A summer full of baseball and basketball is on tap for Frank but first he has some state track to deal with. Frank, along with Kray Person and Tyson Mayer have the third best 4x800 squad in the state.
As we move through the summer, I’ll be doing some get-to-know you features with all of the athletes participating in the Sacred Hoops Program.
