Well, as the spring sports in South Dakota come to a close it is time to start looking ahead to fall sports and eventually, 2019. One of the guys I'll be watching for is Wilmot, soon-to-be senior, Jadus Medicine Crow.

Young man just had himself a heck of a state track meet, finishing 8th in the Class B 400 meters. Sometimes the experience of getting on the big stage for the first time is all it takes for a young athlete to believe they belong, and I expect a big senior season for young Medicine Crow.

Medicine Crow qualified for the state meet in four events this year for the Wolves. The 100, 200, 400 and 4x400.

2018 State Meet Results:

100 meters: Prelims, 11.79 (missed making semis by .02)

200 meters: 23.78 (missed qualifying for finals by .4)

400 meters: Prelims, 52.31, Finals 8th place

4x400 relay - Wilmot ran a 3:42.98 in the prelims, 12th fastest and about 3 seconds out of making the finals on Saturday.

BUT, there are some young bucks on that 4x400 team as Reece Renelt is a freshman, Carson Schmidt is a freshman, Braden Conrad is a junior and of course Medicine Crow is a junior.

Next year, look out for these guys....they have the experience and now some motivation....I like it!
