The Coleman-Egan Hawks getting to the Dakota Dome is becoming a thing of regularity. Back-to-back titles for Coach Chad Williamson, but the Hawks suffered some losses.

After beating Sully Buttes, 42-28 in the 9B title game a year ago, Williamson lost two-time all-stater, QB Bodee Groos and WR Kade Groos, FB Keith Crisp and long-snapper Chandler Gullickson, All of whom were all-state players.

And so, the Hawks, despite losing some of their big-guns are the No. 3 team in Class B according to an early released poll by Midco Sports:

Class 9B pre-season rankings:

No. 1 - Sully Buttes

No. 2 - Castlewood

No. 3 - Colman-Egan

No. 4 Colome

One of the guys the Hawks might lean on early this season is senior guard, Alec Landis. Big-fella made the 9B all-state team a year ago and will be a big part of road-grading the path for some new faces at the skill positions.

Interesting tidbit here: Two sophomores, now juniors, Chase Hemmer (DB) and Dalton Voelker (Punter) should have bigger roles as they move up the ladder.
