Chamberlain sophomore Cameron Caldwell and Todd County junior Bryce Hammer normally meet on the golf course…Tonight, the pair clash in a VERY big game as Chamberlain and Todd County attempt to grain traction.

Boy, if there is one team in Class A basketball that is much better than their record suggests, look no further than Adam Nelson’s Chamberlain Cubs. The Cubs are just 2-4 but the schedule has been among the TUFFEST in all of Class A.
Lost to STM, 81-52
Lost to SFC, 75-46
Lost to Dell Rapids (in Dell Rapids), 45-65…
Wins over Gregory and Parkston and in their most recent outing, a 65-61 road loss to a 5-2 Cheyenne Eagle-Butte squad that is sitting atop Region 6A.
A pair of seniors, Brant Gullickson and scorer, Louie Running Horse do a lot of the heavy lifting. Couple of young guys, Drayton Priebe and Cameron Caldwell (sophomores) are loaded with talent and both terrific athletes.
Has the difficult schedule and the maturing of some of that youth make Chamberlain a dangerous foe?
For Todd County, playing in such a difficult region, tonight’s contest is one Kellan Herman’s 5-3 squad needs.
Region 7A standings:
Red Cloud 45.667 8-1
Pine Ridge 43.125 6-2
Little Wound 43.000 5-2
Winner 42.000 6-2
Todd County 41.375 5-3
St. Francis Indian 39.429 3-4
Bennett County 36.750 3-5
The Falcons are coming off a weird, 58-36 loss at Little Wound last Friday. Trailing by two at halftime the Falcon shooters went ice-cold (5-20 from the free-throw line.)
And so, this little cross-over Region 6/7 match becomes a big one….The Falcons are entering the meat of their schedule….
CEB tomorrow, in Mission
St. Francis Indian vs. TC in Mission on Saturday….
8-3 by Sunday morning would look and feel awesome, but for the Falcons it all starts tonight…
Region 6A notes:
CEB 5-2, MOPO 4-6, MILLER 3-4, Stanley County 3-4, Chamberlain 2-4, McLaughlin 3-8, Crow Creek 2-6.
Not sure who is going to emerge from this group. CEB is looking good on top…Braves big game with Todd County tomorrow and a lot of meat on the schedule including Red Cloud, Pine Ridge and Winner to contend with…and that might be MILLER
Big win for Darin Hunter’s Rustlers on Tuesday as they took down Redfield/Doland in Redfield, 68-64…
Karst Hunter continues to lead this team and on Tuesday, he was gigantic.
41 points and 18 rebounds…
