Some terrific news coming out of the Red Cloud athletic program today as Lady Crusader Emonee Pourier signed to continue her academic and athletic career next season as a member of the United Tribes Technical College Thunderbird program in Bismarck, ND. Pourier is the third member of Amanda Carlow’s 17-U All Native American team from this past summer to sign to continue playing in college.

This one is particularly special to us at Sacred Hoops as Pourier, a 6-foot guard tore her ACL just prior to the start of this year’s high-school season. With a good career under her belt and a terrific AAU summer, the T-Birds decided to invest in a player that will bloom at the collegiate level.

Pourier’s Red Cloud teammate, Maya Franks signed earlier this fall with Bethany Lutheran College.

Suddenly the young ladies at Red Cloud and Pine Ridge have a couple of players they know that are headed to college.

Pictured at left, C team Girls Basketball Team from Pine Ridge won the Oyate Conference Tournament. At right…Congratulations to thee Red Cloud Crusaders Mahpiya Luta C Team for an undefeated season and for being champions of the Big Foot C Team Conference. We are so proud of our Pearly girl for she had never stepped foot on a basketball court or played a game in her life before November. Big thank you to Amanda Carlow for being an amazing coach by instilling great skills and confidence in the team and especially Pearl. It was a great season! So proud of these girls. 🏀💙🙌🏽
