By Rich Winter

Just wanted to pass along some impressive college signings from a pair of really TUFF, west-river Cowboys that are both tremendous athletes in ‘other’ sports.

Colome senior Bull-Rider, Riggin Shippy to Odessa, Texas…

Release from the Odessa College Wrangler Rodeo Team: March 25, 2019

When your folks raise bucking bulls, they will raise bull riders, too! And...Odessa College Wranglers are fortunate to have Riggin Shippy from Colome, SD choose to be a member of the 2019-2020 Rodeo Team.

Riggin qualified for the 2018 National High School Finals Rodeo as the South Dakota State High School Rodeo Champion. He has competed in SDRA, TPBR and MBBA competitions, well as, being an outstanding wrestler! (Wrestled 170 for the Winner (Area), 2nd place Class B wreslting team)

Last summer, Wall’s Cash Wilson won the Saddle Bronc competition and the National Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Wilson has signed to continue his athletic and academic pursuits for the University of Wyoming.

A year ago, Wall junior Cash Wilson decided to go out for track….And then dazzled us in western South Dakota with his wide range of talents in any sprinting event, 200-800 meters. At the state meet, Wilson anchored the Eagles medley relay team to a state title.

Oh, and this fall he was an all-state football player for an explosive Wall Eagles team that lost only to 9B champ Colome.

Just wanted to say congratulations to these Cowboys….Awesome accomplishments all over South Dakota’s prep landscape and now to do what you MOST love in college….That’s awesome….good job you guys!!
