Aberdeen Area becomes third Sacred Hoops Basketball HUB

By Rich Winter

Some big-time news coming out of Aberdeen within the last few weeks. Sacred Hoops Basketball has purchased the Barn Burner Basketball Academy, and the Reede Barn facilities in Aberdeen. If you look at the Sacred Hoops home-page: www.sacredhoopsbasketball.com there are now THREE regional hubs for Sacred Hoops Basketball: Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Aberdeen.

Sacred Hoops Co-Director Allan Bertram talked about the purchase of the Barn-Burner Basketball Academy, and about the superb job Nate Reede did in building the first basketball academy in South Dakota.

“Nate and I have worked very closely together in the past years at the Barn and it just became more obvious that this was a move that I needed to do. My goal when I started Sacred Hoops was to help bring top level Basketball training and opportunities to athletes from all over South Dakota, without always having to drive to do that. Being able to bring what we do to the Aberdeen Region is important to me. We will keep the Barn Burner name, as it is important to me, Nate, and all of the previous athletes who played. It started in Aberdeen as the first academy and needs to remain that way.

Nathan Reede talks about the Barn Burner Basketball Academy, the early beginnings and why the time was right to let Sacred Hoops do its think in the Aberdeen Area.

Allan is the right person to lead Barn Burner today and into the future. I strongly believe with Allan as our owner and leader, it will provide the best opportunity for boys & girls in the Aberdeen region and beyond to maximize their abilities to get better as a player and a young adult. Obviously, I have a tremendous amount of pride for creating the Barn Burner Brand and starting an Academy in Aberdeen. My goal was to make Barn Burner an extraordinary skills & development academy and a extraordinary platform with leagues, camps, club teams etc. that develop our youth through the game of basketball.

We visited with Skyler Bertram and Brianna Kusler this morning, and they explain further some of the things that will be going on in Aberdeen and surrounding areas.

More from Sacred Hoops Co-Director Allan Bertram:

I along with other top coaches will be involved heavily to ensure that things are done at the highest of levels. Our goal is to build the game, To Build the athletes in this region, and to be able to help achieve the goals that they have. This is all done by teaching the important fundamentals and working with the athletes to push them to be the best they can. We will be offering full Spring/Summer Teams, Camps, Individual Workouts, Leagues, etc. We want you to not just play for us, but to also take advantage of all the opportunities that we have. We have become the largest Basketball Program in the entire state in just 10 months - We will have over 50 summer teams and last summer alone completed over 200 high school program workouts. We are very excited and want you all to be a part of the Family. Barn Burner Basketball Academy + Powered by Sacred Hoops = Big Time Opportunities for the athletes in the Aberdeen Region!! Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything that I can do to help in any way.

Proceeds will benefit athletes that otherwise couldn’t afford to play in the summer, giving kids equal opportunities where they otherwise would be disadvantaged.
