Ok, with a good week of weather in front of us, track & field season is finally a GO!
A ginormous performance from Warner sophomore, Cody Larson, who ripped a 9:59.25 personal best at the Dacotah Bank Relays in Lemmon.
Holy, that is fast for so few meets this year.
Larson had some company during that race out in Lemmon as Bison sophomore, Jonathon Burkhalter followed in 10:19
The State qualifying standard is 10:26 so both guys impressive, but Larson with a statement run so early in the year.
With two of the premier Class B distance runners in the 2-mile, Wakpala senior Rhaecine Sam ran alone in the 1600 and still powered to a 4:48…Sam, the Northern State signee was 18 seconds faster than 2nd place. Sam, getting some speed work in, dropped a 2:14 800 later that day. Standard is 4:45 so Sam should dip under that next time on the track.
Just one pre-qualifier in the 1600 meters and that is Freeman Academy/Marion senior Thaniel Schroeder.
