Over the next week or so we’ll be highlighting some of the 55 Sacred Hoops summer AAU teams. Let’s start off in the Aberdeen Region where Jerome Nesheim, coach of the Class B state champs, Clark/Willow Lake team will be guiding the ship.

Here are the players on that squad…

With the graduation of first-team all-stater, Karst Hunter, the Miller Rustlers will be looking for players to fill that void.

Tyler Schumacher - 6-foot-2 forward is a good place to start.

Dawson Pfister - Aberdeen Central - 5’10 G (picture not available)

Jake Brooks, a 6-foot-5 small forward from Howard will be looking to have a big senior season after spending the summer under the guidance and direction of Nesheim.

Colton Hansen, a 6-foot-4 forward from Aberdeen Central will pair with Brooks to give this 17-U squad some serious horsepower on the glass.

Looking forward to getting a good look at 6-foot-3 forward Hunter Thorpe of Ellendale, North Dakota.

Within shouting distance of Aberdeen, Thorpe will have an opportunity to showcase his talents at some of the biggest AAU tournaments in the country this summer.

Will Kadlec - 6-foot-1 G from Ipswich. Tyler Severson’s guys finished the regular season with a 10-9 record.

A youngish roster, coupled with some off-season AAU Hoops and the Tigers could make a run at the state tournament next season.

Riley Pursell.jpg

After finishing 16-4 a season ago KWL coach Kamden Miller has a strong junior class that will be venturing out this summer, looking for that next level.

Riley Pursell, a 6-foot-3 G/F should see a ton of improvement under Nesheim’s direction.

Quinn Jordre - 6-foot-1 Sully Buttes (Picture not available)

Gotta admit, am very excited to see what this kid is all about.

Glance at his Facebook page and you see pictures of a guy hooping, playing RB for the basketball team and a few of him also playing baseball.

I like it…

Looking for this young man to take a leap forward this summer!

Jamison Pratt - 5-foot-11 G, Tiospa Zina.

The Wamdi fell one game short of making the state tournament and with Caleb White returning this could be a big season for Donnie His Many LIghtnings.

Look for this crafty lefty to get a ton better under Nesheim’s direction.
