Busy summer for P/G Panthers/Honkers and Sacred Hoops athletes

Platte/Geddes athlete Kade Starr, left, drives in for the layup while Kelby VanDerWerff scores during a game in the Corn Palace earlier this year.

Always interested in what is going on regarding the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers. Hall-of-Fame coach Frank Cutler always seems to gain a ton of improvement during the seasons, and by the post-season, the Panthers usually put their best foot forward and are a legit state contender, nearly every season.

(Just kind of a side note on VanDerWerff…played a lot as a sophomore for Cutler and showed some real potential with a great inside-game and an expanding outside game. Could be one of the top F/C in the A ranks next season…Also, a stellar pitcher for the Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake HONKERS who beat Gregory County yesterday, 3-2 For the Honkers Blake Moke allowed one earned run and no hits, while striking out five in two innings of relief. VanDerWerff gave up one run on four hits and fanned three to secure the save.
