Derris Buus's West River Sacred Hoops 17-U team looks loaded

Last summer, the West River, Sacred Hoops squad coached by Matt Rama did some serious damage to the summer AAU circuit.

This summer, one of the West River, Sacred Hoops teams has that same look to it.

Martin/Winner native, Derris Buus who was the head coach of Sturgis last season takes the reigns with an uber-talented squad.

Summer tournament schedule:

Tournament Schedule:

Boys 17U & 16U

April 26-28 - Omaha - OSA Spring Fling

May 10-12 - Battle at the Lakes -

June 21-22 Sacred Hoops - Augustana Univerisity

June 28-29 Hub City Class - Aberdeen

July 12-14 - Summer Slam @ Pentagon

July 26-29 Jayhawk Invite - Kansas City

Sacred Hoops West River, (team 1) 17-U squad:

Mankato LeBeaux - Little Wound

Soon t be senior, Little Wound G, Mankato LeBeaux will be one of the top returners in Region 7A this coming season.

A tough, and gritty player, LeBeaux, in his 2nd season with Sacred Hoops Basketball will fit right in with coach Buus's relentless defensive approach.

Gabe Lenger - Sturgis - 6’0” G

Well, Gabe Lenger at Sturgis has some pretty big shoes to fill with the loss of seniors Ryan Garland and Cedrick Stabber.

Playing for his high-school coach, and seeing some elite competition this summer, look for Lenger and the Scoopers to be a west river contender next season.

Riyen Carlow - 6’2” G, Red Cloud

Carlow played under Christian McGhee last summer with Sacred Hoops.

When Ale Rama went down this year, Carlow stepped up.

Should be a good summer for Carlow, who is also a superb football player, to put the finishing touches on an already strong BB game.

Charles Schrader - 6’2” G - Pine Ridge

Brace yourselves summer AAU circuit, Pine Ridge, soon-to-be-senior, Charles Schrader will be coming to a Metro AAU area near you.

At 6-foot-2, Schrader can play all five positions on the floor. Very strong, and a more than capable scorer that will be among South Dakota’s elite G prospects next season.

Tanner Young - 6’3” G - White River

Looking for this young man to have a terrific off-season!

Playing under the direction of Eldon Marshall during the regular season, and now, BUUS, during the AAU season, Young should see improvement.

A tremendous thinker, who does a little bit of everything!

Isaac Williams - Rapid City Central - 6’6” F

6-foot-6 F, Isaac Williams is in his 2nd season with the Sacred Hoops AAU Program.

TJ Hay’s RC Central Cobblers had an 8-12 regular season and will be looking to make that next leap into the upper echelon’s of the AA ranks!

Kelby Olson - 6’2” G - Belle Fourche

Signs of life last season for
Clay Pottorff’s Belle Fourche Broncs who finished the regular season with an 8-12 record.

Olson is a TUFF, FB/BB guy that should thrive under the direction of BUUS this summer.

Ethan Wipf - 6’3” F - Rapid City Christian

A big year for Kyle Courtney’s RC Christian squad as they finished the regular season 16-4.

The group, lost to eventual State Qualifier Hot Springs just before the Round-of-16 so next year, look out for the Comets.
